Hoenn walkthrough — 36. Champion Wallace

Walkthrough

The Champion is Wallace, with a team of Water types led by Milotic. Electric and Grass moves work well. When you win, your rival and Professor Birch come in to congratulate you, and Wallace takes you to the Hall of Fame to record your team. The game then takes you home to your bedroom in Littleroot Town.

After the Hall of Fame, more of Hoenn opens up:

Steven waits in a hidden room of Meteor Falls, reached with Waterfall. He is the strongest trainer in Hoenn.
Steven's house in Mossdeep City holds a Beldum for you.
Once you have caught every Pokémon in the Hoenn Pokédex, Professor Birch offers you Chikorita, Cyndaquil or Totodile.
The Fossil Maniac's tunnel on Route 114 now leads to the Desert Underpass, where the fossil you did not take from Mirage Tower is waiting.
A scientist at the Weather Institute tells you where strange weather has been seen. Heavy sun on Routes 114, 115, 116 or 118 means the entrance to Terra Cave has opened there, with a level 70 Groudon inside. Heavy rain on Routes 105, 125, 127 or 129 means you can dive to Marine Cave, with a level 70 Kyogre. The entrance closes again after about a thousand steps.
Rayquaza is waiting at the top of the Sky Pillar at level 70. The second climb is harder: the floors are now full of cracks, and you need the Mach Bike to ride across them without falling.

You can solve the Regi puzzle at any time after getting Dive. Dive on Route 134 to find the Sealed Chamber, where the walls are written in braille. Use Dig on the wall the inscription points to, then come back with Wailord first in your party and Relicanth last. This opens three tombs, each with a level 40 legendary: Regirock in the Desert Ruins on Route 111, opened with Rock Smash; Regice in the Island Cave on Route 105, opened by walking once around the room; and Registeel in the Ancient Tomb on Route 120, opened with Flash.

The Altering Cave, reached by surfing on Route 103, is another small side cave.
