Level caps
The badge-based level cap of the Level cap run modifier.
Level caps exist only on characters made with the Level cap by badge run modifier. There is no cap otherwise.
Differs from the mainline games
This is a cap on levels, not the mainline obedience rule. Pokémon above the cap still obey you; they just cannot grow.
The cap
With a given number of badges, the cap is the highest level in the party of the leader who gives the next badge. With all eight badges it is the Champion's highest level. The cap counts how many badges you hold, not which ones. It is lifted once you enter the Hall of Fame.
| Badges held | 0 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hoenn | 15 | 19 | 24 | 29 | 31 | 33 | 42 | 46 | 58 |
| Kanto | 14 | 21 | 24 | 29 | 43 | 43 | 47 | 50 | 63 |
The table is generated from the server's own ladder for this release. The Kanto row comes from the FireRed trainers.
| Region | Steps, from 0 badges to 8 |
|---|---|
| Hoenn | Roxanne, Brawly, Wattson, Flannery, Norman, Winona, Tate & Liza, Juan, Wallace |
| Kanto | Brock, Misty, Lt. Surge, Erika, Koga, Sabrina, Blaine, Giovanni, the Champion |
At the cap
- Battle experience stops exactly at the cap level.
- A Rare Candy is refused and you keep it.
- A Pokémon already above the cap (from a trade, say) keeps its level but cannot rise further.
