Run modifiers

Optional rates and rules you can set when making a character.

The Tune this run step of the character wizard changes rates and rules for that character. As the wizard says: any change makes the run unsanctioned and is fixed for the life of the character. Modifiers can be used with every mode, Standard and Hardcore included. Setting a modifier back to its default counts as no change.

Notes

  • Shiny rate starts from the Emerald odds of 1 in 8192; at ×256 it is 1 in 32. The roll is made on the server.
  • Level cap by badge is described on Level caps.
  • No items in trainer battles greys out the Bag in trainer battles; the server refuses the item as well.
  • One catch per route counts per map. A second catch on a map is refused.
  • Permadeath box-lock: a Pokémon that faints is moved to your PC and locked there for the rest of the run. Revives are refused in battle and hidden in the bag, and a whiteout empties the party.

Set battle style

The game never offers the switch prompt when an opponent sends out its next Pokémon, with or without this modifier, so choosing it changes nothing at the moment.

Not in the game yet

There is no Nuzlocke mode. One catch per route and Permadeath box-lock together are the closest thing.
