14. Route 110 and Mauville

Walkthrough

Walk north out of Slateport City onto Route 110. Professor Birch is on the road and stops to talk. Further north, your rival battles you for the third time and then gives you the Itemfinder.

Route 110 has two levels. The Seaside Cycling Road runs above the ground path and needs a bike, which you get in Mauville. The Trick House is also on this route, but its puzzle rooms are not in the game, so only the entrance room can be visited.

At the top of the route is Mauville City. Outside the gym, Wally asks you for a battle with his Ralts. After you win, he and his uncle leave for Verdanturf Town, and a man called Scott introduces himself.

Go into Rydel's Cycles and Rydel gives you a bike for free. You can choose the Mach Bike, which is fast, or the Acro Bike, which can hop and ride narrow rails. Come back and talk to Rydel to swap one for the other at any time.

Mauville also has a Pokémon Center, a Poké Mart and the Game Corner. A tutor in the city offers to teach Rollout, but cannot.
