10. Route 3 and Mt. Moon

Walkthrough

Route 3 runs east from Pewter with eight trainers. Wild Jigglypuff, Spearow and both Nidoran♀ and Nidoran♂ live in its grass.

At the end of Route 3 is the west end of Route 4, with a Pokémon Center below the cave mouth. A man inside sells a Magikarp for ¥500.

Mt. Moon has three floors. Team Rocket grunts and other trainers are spread through it, and Clefairy can be found among the Zubat and Geodude. The cave also hides TM09 and TM46.

On the bottom floor, a Super Nerd guards two fossils he dug up. Beat him and take one: the Dome Fossil (which becomes Kabuto) or the Helix Fossil (which becomes Omanyte). The other one is gone once you choose.
