Whispers
Private messages to another player, on any channel or region.
A whisper is a private message to one player. It reaches them on any channel and in either region.
| Type in chat | What it does |
|---|---|
/w name message or /whisper name message | Whisper a player |
/w "two words" message | A name with a space goes in quotes |
/r message or /reply message | Answer the last player who whispered you |
/w name or /r alone | Open the Whisper tab with that player as the target; what you type there goes to them |
The commands are not case-sensitive and neither is the name. Whisper is also an action on Social rows and on names in chat. Whispers appear in their own colour on the Whisper tab and on the tab you have open.
When a whisper cannot be sent
There is no offline delivery: a whisper is not mail. If the player is offline, invisible, has blocked you (or you them), takes whispers from friends only, or no one online has that name, you see the same answer: "name is not available." If two players online share the name, pick the right one from the Online list.
Limits
- 20 whispers a minute.
- 5 different players who are not your friends every 10 minutes.
- The general chat limits apply as well; see Channels & chat.
