Custom items

Items made for pkmn: the field-move Runes, the Repel Tonic, the Exp. Reamplifier, EXP Candies and Buff Sodas.

Field-move Runes

A Rune lets you use its field move when no Pokémon in your party knows it. Use it from the Bag, from the action bar, or just by facing the tree, rock or water as you would with the move. The usual badge and story requirements still apply, and the game says "You used CUT!" (or the Rune's own move) as it would for a Pokémon.

The Whirlpool, Defog and Rock Climb Runes are refused when used: none of those moves has a field effect in Hoenn or Kanto yet.

Repel Tonic

The Repel Tonic is a Repel that never runs out. Use it to switch it ON or OFF ("REPEL TONIC is now ON.").

  • While it is on, wild Pokémon below the level of the first healthy Pokémon in your party do not appear: the same rule as a Repel, Super Repel or Max Repel. Wild Pokémon at or above that level still do.
  • A Repel you bought keeps its remaining steps while the Tonic is on.
  • The buff row shows REPEL ON.

Exp. Reamplifier

The Exp. Reamplifier is a key item you switch ON or OFF ("EXP. REAMPLIFIER is now ON."). It is never used up. While it is on, battle experience is shared with the whole party:

  • The Pokémon that battled share 25% of the experience.
  • The other 75% is split between every party Pokémon that has not fainted and is below level 100.
  • Each Pokémon's share is then raised by 5%.
  • Every Pokémon that has not fainted gets the full EVs of the defeated Pokémon.

A held Exp. Share does nothing while it is on, and a Macho Brace no longer doubles EVs. The buff row shows EXP REAMP ON. See EV training.

EXP Candies and Buff Sodas

ItemEffect
EXP Candy S800 experience points
EXP Candy M3,000 experience points
EXP Candy L10,000 experience points
Swift SodaSwift Feet: walk and run 50% faster for 30 minutes
Rich SodaRich: double prize money for 30 minutes
Spirit SodaTeam Spirit: 50% more experience for 30 minutes

An EXP Candy is refused, and kept, on a Pokémon that has fainted, is at level 100 or is at the level cap. The three Sodas use different slots, so all three can run at once. Drinking the same Soda again restarts its 30 minutes; it does not add to them.

Not in the game yet

EXP Candies and Buff Sodas cannot be obtained yet: no shop sells them and nothing gives them out.
