Version 0.55.0

Released 2026-09-29

Battles

  • Life Orb, Choice Specs, Choice Scarf, Expert Belt, Muscle Band, Wise Glasses and Metronome now power up their holder.
  • Rocky Helmet and Sticky Barb hurt Pokemon that touch the holder, and Black Sludge heals only Poison types.
  • Toxic Orb and Flame Orb poison or burn their holder at the end of the turn, ready for Guts or Poison Heal.
  • Iron Ball, Ring Target, Grip Claw, Binding Band, Big Root, Light Clay, Shed Shell and Lagging Tail now do what they say.
  • Eviolite, Wide Lens, Zoom Lens, Float Stone, the Plates and Destiny Knot work in battle, and the Power items add EVs.
  • One-use items work too, such as Focus Sash, Air Balloon, Red Card, Power Herb, the resist Berries and the Gems at PokeMMO's 1.5x.

Interface

  • The game is now reachable from the internet: the default server profile is Production, so no VPN is needed to play.
  • Held items from Gens 4 and 5, such as the Gems, Eviolite and Life Orb, show their own icons in the party and summary screens.

Fixes

  • Fake Out makes its target flinch, and Seismic Toss and other fixed-damage moves set off Rough Skin, Static and Effect Spore.
  • Pickpocket steals once a move ends, a bounced Leer hits both foes, and rejoining a trainer battle keeps its damage and exp.
  • At high frame rates a battle no longer gives up on the server and plays offline, which lost its exp and refused your next battle.
  • Gym leaders and other NPCs hand over their TMs and HMs again, and a refused hand-over no longer loses the item for good.

Known issues

  • Hidden Power has a flat power of 60, but its type cannot be changed with Gems yet (PO-778).
  • Relic Song, Embargo and ten Gen 3 effect moves such as Transform, Substitute and Mimic are stubs (PO-769).
  • Losing to your rival in Oak's lab costs money, though the games waive that first loss (PO-777).
  • Double battles have no compact layout on small interfaces yet (PO-763).
  • At Interface Scale 2.00x the login card shows through windows opened over the title screen (PO-768).
  • Castform does not change form in weather.
